This Saturday, bring out your lawn chairs, coolers, dogs, children, etc… for a free summer concerts at Brunswick Crossing, Frederick County’s most exciting planned community. On July 16th enjoy free family-fun musical concerts at Hope Farm Park at Brunswick Crossing starting at 3:30PM.

Brunswick Crossing Free Summer Concert

Last but not least, wrapping up our series, “MHB” July 16th. The passion on Bob Marley, the energy of James Brown, the groove of Jack Johnson and the feel of Eric Clapton will keep the crowd on their feet and dancing! This artist knows how to rock out pretty much any style and find a stellar way to call it his own.

Matthew Henry Baron (whose initials comprise the band’s name) has been entertaining fans in and around the Chicagoland area and now Washington, DC. He released his solo album entitled “Sparks are going to Fly” in 2009. Baron blends healthy doses of blues, reggae, hip-hop, funk, and rock to create a feel-good landscape perfectly suited for summer listening.

With a unique, off-the-cuff style, MHB tends to record his music as he writes it. Impromptu recording sessions allow him to go with whatever is inspiring him in the moment. This keeps MHB music feeling organic and raw—even after songs are refined, added to, and perfected. Just like the music that’s influenced MHB, his songwriting and style carry a timeless quality that will keep his music relevant and relate-able for years to come.

Bluesy and Funky – a guaranteed a great time!

106.9 “The Eagle”, the 4 state’s #1 for Classic Rock will be joining us again at Hope Farm Park for this great finale!

How does she hold those notes sooooooo long. And filling in for Gary tonight was Michael Pryor who was kicking the bass lines to his hearts content. Man that guy can play and I’m lucky to say he’ll be doing again with myself MHB this weekend at The Manor Tavern up in Monkton, MD.

Let’s see we also had some guy cut off one with some of his tipsy DJ rhymes.
It’s not too often you get to go up to play a jam night, follow Paul Reed Smith and jam on his personal PRS guitar!

Last night at the Harp and Fiddle’s Jam Night in Bethesda, MD I was hanging and chatting with the legendary Paul Reed Smith himself. We were talking about what else but his famous PRS guitars and that’s when the magic started to happen. Paul is a super cool guy and after he was done playing a few songs, I was up next! That’s right I had to follow him on stage. I new I was up to the challenge and just as I was about to take my fender strat up there, he said, “Hey man, you want to try out a PRS?” Who could refuse? I mean this was HIS PRS! The vibe was unbelievable. Straight off the bat I told the crowd, “Well, I asked Paul if I could keep the guitar if I liked it and he said, mmmmm no. Well let’s see what this thing can do.” I started playing my original funk infused song “Looking Forward to This Time” and just jammed a funky-bluesy lead to warm up the axe. Not that it needed any warm up as Paul had just played it for three songs. Immediately I felt a sense of real connection with it and was playing as if I was jammin at my house. I sure wasn’t going to rush through this moment. The vibe was perfect and everyone was ready for the funk! Long story short, it was incredible. I’m sure this will be one of the musical moments I remember in my life. As musicians can relate, there are only a dozen of so times when you play beyond your abilities and rise to the next level. Last night was one of those moments!

My personal thanks goes out to Paul and his PRS! I’ll be taking a tour of the PRS plant soon and hopefully I will win the lottery so I can afford to buy one myself!

Thanks to the musician’s - Torro Gamble on Drums, Michael Pryor on Bass, Vince Evans on Keys and Eli on Horn

Thanks to Mark Sachs for taking the photo!

What a great time MHB and the band had jammin for our good friends, new and old, last week at Nisei lounge in Chicago. We want to thank everyone who made the night a success and we hope you enjoyed the night as much as we all did. It isn’t often that MHB gets back to Chicago to play, so when it does happen it is a great feeling to see so many familiar faces in the crowd. We look forward to many more gigs in Chicago over the years to come.

Please stay tuned for highlighted videos of the night.

Here is to a prosperous New Year ahead!

Cheers,
